Light raspberry-pink, this champagne opens with a complex bouquet of spices, burlat cherry, cocoa and hazelnut. On aeration, red berries take over. On the palate, under the present bubbles, we discover a creamy texture and a controlled tannic structure. The red berries are still very much present, contributing to a well-balanced body that combines chewiness and tension. A charming champagne that needs aeration, or even decanting, to express its full potential.

Established five generations ago in Villers-sous-Châtillon, in the Marne Valley, the estate is run by Sylvie and Régis Robert, supported by their daughter and son-in-law. The vineyard comprises 14 ha spread over the southern slopes of the river, between Dormans and Épernay, in six different communes. The majority grape variety is obviously Pinot Meunier, as in many estates, except that here it is used to produce several exclusive cuvées. The estate has obtained HVE (high environmental value) and VDC (sustainable viticulture in Champagne) certifications and, in 2018, decided to install beehives on its vineyards to promote biodiversity. The resulting honey pots are also on sale in their online store and at the estate.
