Gault&Millau's review 2022

A beautiful Pinot Meunier bursting with pleasure (with finesse), with a luscious fruitiness of mirabelle plums and exotic fruits against a backdrop of fragrant flowers. We love its pep and crispness, but also its tenderness and patina. A cuvée for a Comté cheese, for example.

Houssart
At the helm of his tiny vineyard, spanning just 1.1 hectares, Romain Houssart produces 7,000 bottles annually. The estate’s twelve vineyard plots are located in Chamery, a commune classified as Premier Cru, in the Montagne de Reims, and offer a wonderful diversity of soils, including sand, marl, and clay. The chalky subsoil and the hillside location allow the grapes to ripen beautifully. The champagne is produced using traditional methods, and Romain, an independent winemaker, handles the blending, aging, and bottling himself.
