This pure meunier is quite fresh! The nose is flattering, with notes of Conference pear, Kréma and Arlequin candies, and a touch of cinnamon to spice things up. The attack is initially invigorating, before rounding out with apple-pear compote, sweet spices and childhood sweets. The bubbles are present, but not aggressive. The finish remains on the same greedy theme, with ripe white fruit and a sweetness of its own. A few bitters add a welcome chewiness. An ideal champagne with a juicy fruit dessert.

Thévenet-Delouvin

Isabelle and Xavier Thévenet like to describe themselves as artisan winemakers guided by values—passion and commitment—instilled in them by their parents and grandparentswhom they think of as they craft their wines—some of which are produced in batches of no more than 500 bottles—from plots located on both banks of the Marne Valley and one on the Grauves terroir south of Épernay on the Côte des Blancs. Spanning about ten hectares dominated by the Meunier grape, their estate now benefits from the expertise of one of their daughters, an oenologist currently working at another champagne house.
